How does the screen lock actually work?
When adhan starts, FivePrayer uses native Screen Time APIs on iOS and accessibility services on Android to lock your phone. The lock screen shows three buttons: I've prayed, Wallah, and Remind me in 10 min. Emergency calls always work, and you can whitelist critical apps in Settings.
Is FivePrayer free?
Yes, all core features (times, reminders, streaks, Qibla, progress, lock) are free forever. No ads, ever.
Which calculation method should I use?
We default to your country's convention, Kemenag in Indonesia, Diyanet in Türkiye, MWL elsewhere. You can override anytime: ISNA, Egyptian, Umm al-Qura, Karachi, and more are supported.
Does it work offline?
Fully. Times for the next 30 days are precomputed on device, and Qibla works without GPS using a fallback heuristic.
Is my prayer data private?
All tracking lives on your device. No accounts required, nothing synced unless you explicitly enable iCloud backup. We can't see your data because we don't store it.
Is there a Chrome extension?
Yes, install it here. It shows prayer times right in your browser. The full experience, streaks, Qibla, reminders, is on mobile.
How do prayer streaks work?
Every time you confirm a prayer within its time window, your streak counter increases. The streak is opt-in and never punishes you for missing a day, it's there if gentle momentum helps.
Does it work in high-latitude places?
Yes. We implement the Angle-Based Method, One-Seventh Rule, and Middle of the Night rules. Pick whichever your local scholars recommend.
